Snuff bottle is a kind of traditional art and craft in China, which originated in Ming Dynasty and reached its prosperity in Qing Dynasty. In late Ming Dynasty, with the tobacco's coming to China, more and more people started to use snuff bottles. Inside- Painting snuff bottle started in late of Jiaqing Period, Qing Dynasty and early years of Daoguang, Qing Dynasty.
 
Inside painting snuff bottle is made by painting in transparent bottle with specially made hook-form painting brush. Materials of the snuff bottle are natural crystal or artifical crystal, i.e. optical glass. Artists can paint into the inner-wall of the bottle through the small mouth, to make the inside painting art a very special art form in the world. Chinese inside painting snuff bottles are well known home and abroad and good works of snuff bottles are always favorite pursuit of the famous collectors from different countries.
 

Hengshui City as origin of Hebei School inside painting is famous in China for the inside painting snuff bottles and other crafts. It is known as Homeland of Inside Painting where many good artists get together, while Mr. Shouxun Li, is one of them.

Li was born in the year 1958 in Raoyang County, Hebei Province. He loves art since his childhood, studied oil-painting from 1985, was guided by the inside painting famous artists, like Mr.Guanyu Wang, Mr.Runpu Chen, Mr.Zhenhai Suo and Mr.Liuhui, etc. His inside painting snuff bottle works were awarded many times and were loved and collected by some collectors from all over the world, such as "Napoleon", "The Celebration Ceremony for Founding of P.R. China", "Virgin Mary in the Chair", etc.
